Recorded in 1992, this includes: Just Like Us, I'm a Soldier, Change the World, Battlefield, Musical Adventure, The Dream, No Competition, Bamboo Walk, Shame Oh Shame, Give It Away, Overcome Evil with Love.
Over All The World
Much of James Ward's career has been ministering in song to crowds of people at conferences over the course of several days. This CD Over All The World is a collection of those songs that you can't help but sing along with over and over.
Recorded in 1990 with his Chattanooga band members, this recording contains: What's Gonna Make Me Long, Glory Glory, Love Command, Ain't No Rock, Deep, Mt Zion, Wake Up, God Is Good, Stand Up, Holy Books, Keep Looking Up, Heart of the Matter.
After several years away from the studio, James comes back with fresh chops and insights in Blue Believer. This CD has been digitally remixed and re-mastered by one of the original engineers Paul RIchardson, who also co-wrote the tender All Of You. Blue Believer features some great musicians from Muscle Shoals and Tampa playing a variety of blues-based gospel music and James at his vocal best. Also Walk With Me, Love of the Father, O God Be Merciful to Me, The Lowest Place, What Does It Mean, Coming Around.
- DIGITALLY REMASTERED
James Ward has been a hit-writer for many years and this digitally re-mastered CD, Good Advice, proved it with the Number One Hit Song I Belong To You.Pray, Pray, Pray also got tremendous airplay as a Christian anthem with meaning. Good Advice is the powerful pop opener and Growing Pains is another one of James' introspections on his own life. Also, Death Is Ended, You'll Know, We Cry, God Knows What Nations Do, Lord of Our Unity.
Faith Takes A Vision
- DIGITALLY REMASTERED
Faith Takes A Vision was also digitally remastered in 2009 and was James' first major label-produced album. Turley RIchards brought out the best of James' writing and singing framed in classic, simple arrangements and outstanding musicianship. Take Hold brings high energy right from the start. Don't Blame it On My God is a stunning issue-driven song. Maybe I'll Trust You Now is a touching testimonial and No Bad News is a rollicking calypso feel for the Psalms.
Also Not How, Make a Joyful Noise, Make Me a Vessel, Faith Takes a Vision, You Are My Child.
Digitally re-mastered in 2009, No VIolence is James Ward at his raw and energetic best. From a 1981 Toronto session with James covering several tunes from the early album, Himself.
A full on funk clavinet powers through I Wish That I Could Ask; The title track No Violence is sublime and poignant, giving way to the raucous gospel number Satisfied.
Also Consider the Lilies, Creation, O Father, Meditate on These Things, All You Who Roam, and the glorious Morning Sun.
Mourning To Dancing
Mourning To Dancing is perhaps James Ward's most timeless work. With fabulous musicians playing horns, strings and percussion of all kinds and exquisite production from Stephen Alexandersen and Gary Heddon, this CD was re-mixed and re-mastered by renowned jazz engineer Paul Richardson in 2008-2009. We know you'll agree that this classic has never sounded better and still speaks with the same power that it had over 30 years ago. Highlights include the famous hymn So His Honor, the transcendent Mourning To Dancing,Hold Up My Hands and the cool and ambling Who Can Separate Us. Also Highway, Gotta Get Home, Late At Night, Precious is Your Mercy.
James Ward kick starts his solo career with a full out piano attack in Himself, his first solo album recorded in 1974. Song list: Morning Sun, O Father, Consider the Lilies, I Will Follow You, Creation, Isaiah 53, He Shall Be Satisfied, Speak to Me, I Wish that I Could Ask, Love Trilogy, Star in the East, Psalm 90.
